Organic is nature’s farming method. Organic plants have vitality from sunshine, fresh air, rainfall, nutrients and microorganisms in the soil. With that vitality they are able to adequately protect themselves and each other from pests and predators. Usually the best food options are:
- Home-grown, chemical free produce
- Certified Organic (also known as Biological or Bio) which still involves the use of organic chemical sprays and fertilizers
- Not Certified Organic but organically grown by trusted farmers
- Spray-free
- Pesticide-free
- Insecticide-free
- GMO-free (Genetically Modified Organism-free)
- Minimally sprayed, for example, many farmers spray chemicals only on newly sprouted seedlings as they find it increases the chance of survival, while others never spray after the fruit appears
